Services include:
Counselling and Psychotherapy - provides accessible and confidential short-term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families. Support is available for a broad range of mild to moderate concerns including grief and loss, emotional management, depression, anxiety, past or current abuse, separation/divorce, parenting, substance use, relationship issues and job stress. Fees are based on a sliding scale. Fill out the online Counselling Request Form at durham.ca/Living Here/Counselling or call 311 or 1-888-721-0622.
Employee Assistance Program(EAP) - provides access to professional and confidential counselling, psychotherapy, coaching and consulting services. These services help individuals manage personal, family, or work-related concerns. Call 905-666-6169 or 1-888-757-5873.
Adult Protective Services (APS) - provides care management and service coordination to help adults 18 years and older who are living with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential and live as independently as possible in the community. There is no fee for this service. Call 311 or 1-888-721-0622.
Partner Assault Response Program (PARP) - A specialized, community-based group education and counselling program for men and women mandated by the legal system to participate in response to a criminal charge involving domestic violence against a current or former partner. The PAR Program offers 12-session groups that provide individuals with the opportunity to examine their beliefs and attitudes towards domestic abuse, and to learn non-abusive ways of resolving conflict. Fees are based on a sliding scale. Call 311 or 1-888-721-0622.
Primary Care Outreach Program (PCOP)- An advanced care paramedic and a Family Services Durham social worker provide outreach services and service navigation to at-risk populations in Durham Region, including those who are homeless/underhoused and often struggle with mental health and addictions challenges. Mental Health Outreach Program (MHOP) - A mobile team that provides outreach counselling/psychotherapy to those who are unhoused or recently/insecurely housed and are struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues. Offers include specialized support for those who use opiates. There is no fee for this service. Support is available Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. Older Adult Safety Advisor (OASA) - Works to ensure the safety and well-being of older adults by promoting awareness, providing advocacy, responding to inquiries, and offering assistance, direction, and support.
